The WBC super-lightweight world champion, 25-year-old American Haynie, suffered the first defeat of his career after being knocked down in the seventh, 10th and 11th rounds.
The judges scored - 112-112, 114-110, 115-109 in favor of his peer and compatriot, Garcia.
The controversial Garcia is the most popular boxer on social networks, he knew how to take advantage of the situation for marketing by drinking a bottle of beer during the measurement and sending a series of controversial posts to his followers on X and Instagram profile.
"Come on, guys, you really thought I was crazy?! You're crazy," Garcia said after the victory and added:
“My left crochet is my left crochet. It is a blessing from God".
Haney was disappointed.
"I showed that I can fight after a knockdown and an injury. I hope for a rematch, I gave him a chance and it's only right that he retaliates. He didn't have the necessary weight, so I'm still the champion," said the 25-year-old American Haney.
