From October 25 to November 4, Petrovac will host the third IBSA World Individual Chess Championship for people without and with visual impairments, announced the Paralympic Committee (POK).

After the successful organization of the IBSA European Goalball Championship - Group A, last December in Podgorica, the International Sports Federation for the Visually Impaired entrusted POK with another large and significant international competition.

It was announced that the POK will organize the challenging project in partnership with the Chess Federation of Montenegro, with whom, as they stated, they have had successful cooperation for many years.

The competition in Petrovac will bring together more than 100 of the world's best male and female players.

Montenegro will be led in Petrovac by Predrag Nikač, who won a silver medal last year at the World Individual Championship for people without and with visual impairments in Rhodes.

At that championship, he won the fourth major medal.

He previously won gold at the World Championship in Cagliari 2019, and he also has gold medals at the first board of the Blind and Visually Impaired Olympics in 2017 and the first board of the first Paralympics at the beginning of February last year in Belgrade.

He is the first champion of independent Montenegro, and four times he was national champion in the regular program.
