Paris police chief Laurent Nunez said today that the anti-terrorist perimeter for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will be extended to all buildings located on the banks of the Seine, adding that everything has been done "to disrupt people's lives as little as possible."

"The perimeter will extend to all the buildings bordering the Seine that have a visual representation of the parade," which will take place on July 26 in a six-kilometer stretch from the Osterlitz bridge to the Trocadero, Nunes said.

Anyone living within this perimeter or wishing to enter it, by car or on foot, will have to register on the digital platform and will be subject to a security check.

The measures take effect on July 18, eight days before the opening ceremony of the Games. All metro stations within this perimeter will be closed, but without closing the lines that pass through it.

In this protective zone, traffic will be prohibited from July 18, with possible exemptions for "residents, people who work there and delivery", Nunes said.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said more than 20.000 people, residents and workers in the perimeter, will be directly affected by the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
