Montenegrin motorist Vasilije Jakšić finished fourth in the premiere race of the new season of the European Mountain Track Championship, which was held today on the Rehberg track in Austria.
Jakšić in the Hyundai I30 N TCR, in class 3, after two races, finished the performance in a total time of four minutes, 16 seconds and 98,8 hundredths.
In the qualifications, after three races, he had the second result.
"The new season with a new car and the first appearance at the Rehberg track in Austria was a real challenge for me and a very good experience. The competition was by far the best in the class I chose. I learned the track in practice and achieved the second time after three runs, but I was aware that we are not material for the podium," Jakšić said.
He emphasized that the cars are even more improved compared to last year, as well as the regulations themselves.
"We are not in step with the competition. We have a long job to prepare the car, because handing over is not an option. The championship has just started, it is more important how it ends," said Jakšić.
His brother, Milan Jakšić, with a Honda Civic Type R, finished fourth in class 5 with a total time of four minutes, 41 seconds and 36,8 hundredths.
