Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu today accused the British Army of using Russian military insignia to mark enemy forces during exercises, following a method he says was used by Nazi Germany during World War II, according to AFP.
The agency states that Shoigu said that British troops at the training center in Salisbury Plain have started "using Russian-made tanks and Russian army uniforms to mark the enemy."
"The last time such a training method was used by Nazi Germany was during the Second World War," the transcript of Shoigu's statement published on the website of the Russian ministry stated.
AFP reports that Shoigu added that NATO has doubled the intensity of military exercises and that most of them are "anti-Russian".
