Spanish authorities announced today that they rescued more than 150 migrants from three boats off the Canary Islands.
During the night, 114 migrants from two boats were taken care of, the emergency service of the Canary Islands said on Twitter.
Migrants from the third boat were rescued at dawn and all 54 passengers were returned to the island of Lanzarote.
Among the migrants who were helped are a baby and a mother.
The migrants were rescued a day after the shipwreck about 160 km off the coast of Gran Canaria, when at least two people died.
