Russia will return to the grain deal "the same day" Moscow's conditions for exporting its grains and fertilizers to the global market are met, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters.
Russia pulled out of the deal in July, a year after it was brokered by the United Nations and Turkey, complaining that its food and fertilizer exports faced obstacles and that insufficient amounts of Ukrainian grain were going to countries that needed them, reports Radio free Europe (RSE).
"When everything necessary is done to remove the obstacles to the export of our grains and fertilizers, on the same day we will return to the collective implementation of the Ukrainian part of the 'Black Sea Initiative,'" Lavrov said in New Delhi after the G20 summit.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in his address today in New Delhi after the meeting, called not to "marginalize" Russia in the negotiations on the restart of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, reported the Agence France-Presse.
"No process that would marginalize Russia in the Black Sea grain initiative will be sustainable," Erdogan said and announced that he would soon organize a meeting on the subject with representatives of Russia, Ukraine and the UN, without specifying the date or place.
The Turkish leader told reporters that Russia is willing to send free grain to poor countries, which Turkey favors, and added that the situation for renewing the agreement is not hopeless, RSE reports.
Ukraine is opposed to the idea of easing sanctions on Russia to revive the deal.

Two foreign humanitarian workers, a Canadian man and a Spanish woman, were killed today in the east of Ukraine in a Russian artillery attack in which a team of four employees of a Ukrainian non-governmental organization was hit.

Russian forces sent 32 drones to Ukraine last night, most of them in the Kiev area, the Ukrainian army announced, stating that it shot down 25.

Russian forces shot down eight drones over the Black Sea near Crimea and destroyed three speedboats overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
US-made military speedboats carrying Ukrainian soldiers were destroyed northeast of Snake Island, Moscow said, without specifying the number of casualties, Reuters reports.
Snake Island, a symbol of Ukrainian defiance, is Ukraine's outpost in the Black Sea, where tensions have escalated since Russia pulled out of a deal that allowed Ukraine to ship grain from southern ports despite the war.

Ukrainian officials announced that Russia carried out a drone attack on Kiev during the night, and that the explosions echoed for two hours.
Parts of the downed drones fell on several central city districts - Darnytskyi, Solomyanskyi, Shevchenkovskii, Sviatoshinskyi and Podil, reports Reuters.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said that one person was injured in the Podil neighborhood, and a fire broke out in one of the city's parks.
