Ukrainian air defense shot down four unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) that Russia launched over that country early in the morning on March 1, the Ukrainian army announced.

As reported by Radio Free Europe in the Ukrainian language, the Russian army attacked with five S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the occupied Donetsk region and the Russian Belgorod region, as well as four "Shahid" type drones from the Primorsky Akhtar region.

"As a result of the fighting, the Armed Forces destroyed four 'Shahids' within the borders of Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions," the Ukrainian military said.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Russian border region of Kursk, Roman Starovoit, said that due to the attack by Ukrainian drones, four villages in that region were left without electricity, reports RSE in the Ukrainian language.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defenses shot down four Ukrainian drones over Belgorod and Nizhny Novgorod. Ukraine has not commented on the claims.

Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk announced on February 24, the second anniversary of the start of the war, that the Ukrainian army had destroyed 1.905 Russian missiles, 4.844 attack drones and 7.660 operational-tactical drones in two years.

In two years of war in Ukraine, more than 10.500 people were killed, of which 587 were children.

6,5 million Ukrainians left the country, and Ukrainian cities were turned into ruins.
