Great Britain will deliver more than 10.000 drones to Ukraine in 2024, including attack drones, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps said today during a visit to Kyiv.

London will set aside an additional €146 million to purchase "state-of-the-art" drones, bringing its aid to £325 million and €380 million.

The British authorities consider this equipment very effective in the fight of the Ukrainian forces against the Russian invasion.

"We continue our commitment to arm Ukraine with new state-of-the-art drones, coming directly from British defense manufacturers, world leaders" in the sector, Shaps said, encouraging Kiev's allies to do the same.

Among them are FPV (first person view) drones. The operator of the drone has a virtual reality helmet, which allows him to see live images of the terrain as if he were inside the aircraft.

In mid-February, Great Britain announced that it would lead a coalition together with Latvia responsible for organizing the production and delivery of thousands of drones to Ukraine "on a large scale and at affordable prices."

London has announced that it has pledged to allocate seven billion pounds (8,1 billion euros) for military support to Ukraine from the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.

The British military has also trained tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers on its soil, including future pilots capable of flying F16 fighter jets.
