The Ukrainian military intelligence agency GUR attacked the main production facility of the Russian aviation factory in Russia's Voronezh region, a Ukrainian intelligence source told Reuters.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced earlier today that two drones were shot down over the region.

The source said that the 711th aircraft repair factory in the city of Borisoglebsk was hit. It did not give any details on the extent of the damage.

The city is at least 350 kilometers from the Ukrainian government-held front line in the northeast.

Reuters could not independently verify the allegations.

Kiev has recently stepped up attacks deep inside Russian territory, targeting military installations and energy infrastructure that aid Moscow's war effort. It mainly uses various types of domestically produced long-range drones, Reuters concludes.
