An energy facility in Ukraine's southern Dnipropetrovsk region was damaged early Friday after a fire and a Russian drone attack, Ukraine's military and a regional official said.
Debris from four downed Russian drones fell on the territory of an infrastructure facility in Krivoriška district and set it on fire, the army said, adding that firefighters extinguished the fire.
It is not possible to immediately assess the extent of the damage, said regional head Serhij Lisak.
The Tripilsk power plant, the main supplier of electricity for the Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions, was destroyed by Russian missiles on Thursday.
Anti-aircraft systems shot down 16 of 17 drones launched by Russia in six Ukrainian regions early Friday morning, Ukraine's air force said on social media.
"The Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down 16 Shahid-type drones in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions," according to a message on Facebook.
In recent days, Russia has been carrying out massive airstrikes and drone strikes against Ukrainian civil and energy infrastructure.
