Several thousand people gathered yesterday in Paris for a march against racism and Islamophobia, but also against police violence, France Info radio reported on its website.
The rally was held at the invitation of about 50 organizations and the radical left-wing party Unconquered France, while the demonstrators carried a large banner with the inscription "Our children are in danger" during the walk.
One of the organizers of the rally told the French media that the violence, which is often daily, includes violence by the police, as well as violence in the poorer neighborhoods of Paris, as well as against black and Arab children.
The march that started from the eastern part of Paris ended at Republic Square, where a concert was held in which the rapper Medin took part.
Many demonstrators wore Palestinian headscarves as a sign of solidarity with the population of the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian flags were also waved.
The Paris police prefecture initially banned the gathering due to the danger of endangering public order, but the Paris administrative court suspended the ban, considering that the ban threatened the freedom of public assembly.
