The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stated in a short statement on Telegram that Ivanov was detained, and that the investigation was ongoing, writes Reuters.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, as reported by Russian agencies, said that the report on Ivanov's detention was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Minister of Defense, he said, was informed in advance about Ivanov's detention.
Forbes magazine ranked Ivanov, an expert in cybernetics and the nuclear industry, as one of the richest people in the Russian security establishment.
