In the Special Court in Belgrade, the trial of Darko Šarić, his former lawyer Dejan Lazarević and 13 other persons for planning the murder and discrediting the accomplice witnesses continued. N1.

First, the defendants Milan Vučinić and Duško Šarić pleaded guilty and presented their defenses, who had been on the run since the arrest of Darko Šarić's group in April 2022 until January 4, 2024, when they both surrendered to the Serbian police.

Today's hearing in the proceedings against Šarić's group for planning the murder and discrediting the witness associate Nebojša Joksović is the first at which the two defendants appeared after the surrender.

As N1 reports, Milan Vučinić was the first to enter the courtroom and said that he was not guilty, that he did not use the phone with the "Sky" application and that the allegations in the indictment are not true.

The acting prosecutor asked him if he knew Nebojša Joksović and the defendants in this proceeding.

Vučinić replied that he did not know Joksović, but that he was friends with several of the accused.

After him, Duško Šarić, the brother of Darko Šarić, entered the courtroom and pleaded not guilty.

"I do not recognize the allegations of the indictment. I have not committed any of the crimes that I am charged with. It is not even clear to me how I ended up on the indictment. I haven't committed any crimes. I am not a member of any organized criminal group," said Duško Šarić in his defense and stated who he knew of all the accused.

"Danilo Odović is my former brother-in-law. I know Bojan Stanojković. I have been friends with Aleksandar Bošković privately for several years. I know Danilo Stojanović and Milutin Radovanović superficially. Arso Šarić is my cousin. I have known Milan Vučinić for many years. I could not discredit the associate witness Nebojša Joksović, I have nothing to do with him, and why would I discredit him when at that time Darko Šarić was sentenced with finality. I didn't harass police officers, I didn't promise or give them any money, I didn't pay for parties or lunches. "I have been living in Belgrade since 1997, I have four children, I applied for citizenship several times, but I never got it," said Duško Šarić.

Attorney Dalibor Katancevic, the defense attorney for Darko Šarić, asked Duško Šarić only one question - if he had ever used a phone with the "Sky" application, to which he replied that he had "never".

The trial then continued with the hearing of the injured witness Goran Nikolašević, a businessman from Valjevo.

N1 reminds that this proceeding is being conducted because the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime is charging Darko Šarić and his associates with planning the murder and discrediting Nebojša Joksović, who was an associate witness in the proceedings against Šarić for cocaine smuggling.

Namely, according to the indictment, Šarić made a plan to kill Joksović out of "reckless revenge", and since his associates failed to do so, Šarić ordered the discrediting of Joksović. The goal was to lose the status of an accomplice witness in this way, through the alleged planning of the murder of his associate Goran Nikolašević, who reported Joksović to the police. The prosecution claims that everything was staged.

Darko Šarić arranged this while he was in custody, with his lawyer Dejan Lazarević and other associates via the "Sky" application on an encrypted phone, according to the indictment.

It is still unknown how Darko Šarić was able to use the phone while he was in one of the most heavily guarded detention centers in the Special Court building.

Nikolašević said in the courtroom that since 2018 he had knowledge that Nebojša Joksović was planning his liquidation with Dalibor Ristic and Saša Cvetinović.

"That's why I turned to lawyer Dejan Lazarević, who simply couldn't believe it and he advised me to report it, which I did. The police told me not to drive in the car with my wife and children for a while and to get out of the country for a while until they investigate the case. In March 2020, I had a meeting with Dalibor Ristic, and he told me without hesitation what was the agreement between him and Nebojsa Joksović to liquidate me. I then suggested that we compile a note, because there was so much that I couldn't remember. He dictated the statement, and I wrote it down, and then we both signed the statement," Nikolašević said.

He then said that he filed a criminal complaint against Joksović with the police in Valjevo, but that it was rejected due to alleged obstructions by the prosecutor's office there, writes N1.

"It was a circus of proceedings. I claim that Joksović blew up my car. It happened during the night of August 9, 2020. I heard the explosion, got up, turned on the video surveillance in the house, then went outside to turn off the car. The woman called the police, who came quickly, and later the inspectors who did the investigation," said Nikolašević.

Nikolašević added at the end that he is not joining the criminal prosecution of the accused in this proceeding, but he emphasized that he will be the first to join the criminal prosecution of Joksović, if proceedings are initiated against him.

The hearing ended with this testimony, and the trial will continue tomorrow when the aforementioned Dalibor Ristić will testify, and according to the announcement of the president of the court panel, written evidence from the case file will be presented.
