The search for survivors has been called off after a bridge collapsed in Baltimore, the Coast Guard said, adding that six people who were missing are believed to have died.
"Due to the length of the search and the temperature of the water, at this time we do not believe we will find the missing persons alive," Coast Guard official Shannon Gilreath said at a news conference late last night.
A section of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed after a container ship hit it early Tuesday morning, sending multiple vehicles into the water.
