US President Joseph Biden and his opposition opponent in the presidential elections in November, Donald Trump, said that they accept a public debate before the elections.
Biden, the 81-year-old president, a Democrat who was running for a second term, yesterday in a radio interview when asked by the host if he would participate in a public debate with his 77-year-old predecessor from the Republican Party, said: "I will, sometime. No I know when. I would look forward to it."
It's the first time Biden has made it clear he's ready for a debate with his Republican rival.
Trump, who refused to participate in debates even with rivals from his own party, said yesterday that he is ready for a debate with Biden "anytime, anywhere."
"I suggest Monday night, Tuesday night or Wednesday night, during the pre-election meeting in Michigan" - wrote the former president on his social network "Truth".
Trump, who is on criminal trial in New York, "suggested" that the debate be held "tonight, in the courthouse - I will be there."
