The Lebanese Hezbollah movement announced that today it targeted two military positions in the northern part of Israel, in response to attacks on "civilian homes in the southern part of Lebanon" where three people, including two fighters of the movement, died last night.
Hezbollah fighters "carried out a complex attack, using explosive drones and guided missiles, on the headquarters of the Al Manar military command and on the gathering of forces of the 51st battalion of the Golani brigade," the Lebanese Islamist movement said in a statement.
Since the start of the war between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7, there has been a daily exchange of fire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, which claims to support the Palestinian Islamist movement.
Pro-Iranian Hezbollah, which has an arsenal of rockets and precision missiles, targets Israeli military positions and locations near the border, and Israel responds by bombing targets on Lebanese territory, mostly in the south, including targeted attacks on Hezbollah and Hamas officials.
Conflicts intensified during this week. Israel attacked deeper and deeper into Lebanese territory, and Hezbollah responded with more complex attacks on Israeli military positions in the north of the country.
In nearly seven months of cross-border warfare, at least 385 people, including 254 Hezbollah fighters and 73 civilians, have been killed in Lebanon, according to AFP.
On the Israeli side, according to the army, 20 people were killed.
