Control

Perhaps before all other reforms, Montenegro needs a reform of political life, that is, a fundamental reform of political parties. Almost all of them are undemocratic in their internal organization and live on the belief that "real politics" is only manipulation and trickery. That is why it is so obvious that the issue of control is crucial for all of them

It's always a question, of course. When you unfold the shot, look a little deeper - you always come to the same thing - the issue of control.

To clarify right away - the issue of control over the census process is of course important. It should be such an obvious thing. Nevertheless, this "new" government has shown dilettantism and lack of understanding at every step, so why not now. Therefore, control of the census process through adequate procedures is completely normal (and desirable), and I don't understand why anyone is stressing about it.

But here - in this wild pre-census campaign - "control" is a much broader term than merely monitoring social actions like censuses. It is indicated as a political method and, above all, a political ideal above ideals. They started towards Popper, and finished code Orwell. It's not such a rare trajectory...

Perhaps before all other reforms, Montenegro needs a reform of political life, that is, a fundamental reform of political parties. But what are we talking about when we talk about control?

And that in Montenegro of post-transitional miracles - where, as we have heard, every new government installs its own instant-bourgeoisie. Just take all these historical processes with a grain of salt, or at least somewhat parodically - that's how those elites and those bourgeoisie are... But they were all born from party control of society and all its segments from economy to culture and sports. From a total and shameless monopoly.

Perhaps this situation in the run-up to the census most vividly shows how the parties imagine their place in Montenegrin everyday life.

It often seems that they perceive themselves as some kind of deities who decisively shape reality, sending a clear message to the "immature" citizen that he "doesn't think". Just let him listen. In a similar way how it works with religious organizations.

It also shows how the Serbian patriarch perceives himself and Montenegro. It's not just the shepherd and the flock - the shepherd doesn't explain to the sheep who they are and what they are, he just announces to them. In short - a speechless herd, that's how the patriarch sees the citizens of Montenegro. But luckily, he's here to explain everything. And the way he "clarifies" shows that he knows nothing about what he intends to judge. Even if some "misery" annoys him...

At DPS, that word (control) has a somewhat "enhanced" meaning. Namely, for a good part of the reign, control was the only model of "dialogue" that interested them. This is not a metaphorical but a literal expression.

After all, this idea of a boycott shows exactly the metastasis of the urge to control - not with the intention of monitoring the process itself, but with the clear intention of controlling - the citizens. And their will.

The need for political parties (and religious organizations) to interfere in something that does not essentially belong to them is terrifying.

It is an explicit humiliation of a citizen. Who has no one to protect from this kind of pressure. Because political parties are on a different job - "selling" their image of reality. Even if it is completely inadequate to reality.

Let's say Djukanovic and the flourishing DPS created conditions for the mobilization of Serbs that had not existed in Montenegro since the "young" DPS from the early nineties. Therefore, the DPS (and Đukanović) is most directly responsible for the two largest mobilizations of the Serbs in modern Montenegrin history, i.e. after the (illegitimate) Podgorica Assembly.

When I hear how they care for Montenegro, I remember a gentleman from Beran who used to mutter to the latest rhetoric of the DPS - "Don't you just defend us... we'll finally die".

In fact, the inability to understand the wrongness of one's own policy led that once gigantic party to decline and defeat.

That is why it is deeply unfair to associate DPS with the Montenegrin idea and story. They only compromised that idea by using party logic. And they continue to do so.
