Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is in talks for the lead role in the new "Jurassic World" movie.
According to the "Hollywood Reporter", the two-time Oscar-nominated actress could follow in the footsteps of her Marvel co-star Chris Pratt if she takes on the lead role in the latest installment of the dinosaur franchise.
Pratt led the cast of 2015's "Jurassic World" and its two sequels, the latter of which brought back original stars Sam Neill and Laura Dern. It has grossed over a billion dollars worldwide.
The new film will be directed by Gareth Edwards, whose latest work "The Creator" was nominated for two Oscars. Edwards also directed 2014's "Godzilla" and 2016's "Rogue One." The screenplay comes from David Capp, who also wrote the screenplay for the original 1993 "Jurassic Park." The film is slated for a summer 2025 release.
Johansson recently starred in Wes Anderson's Asteroid City.
