The trial of Darko Šarić continued today before the High Court in Belgrade for planning the murder of Nebojša Joksović, a key associate witness in the proceedings against Šarić for cocaine smuggling from South America.

Šarić said that he did not commit any criminal offense for which he was accused. reports KRIK.

"The entire indictment boils down to the prosecutor's claim that I wrote something (on the 'Sky' app), without any proof that I wrote it." I am absolutely not the author of those messages nor did I use the phone during that period. I am defending myself from something illusory, from fiction," he said.

Šarić claims that he did not organize a criminal group and that this was not possible because he was in custody during that period.

"My life was followed here, everything is known. My every step is known here - when I eat lunch, when I walk," said Šarić.

"This is like a script for a movie. We are accused of buying apartments and cars, but there are no apartments or cars anywhere. There are only pictures of weapons. I am asking the prosecutor to show us any material evidence."

He said that he did not know some of those named in the indictment, while he did not exchange messages with others whom he knew via "Sky".

"I don't know this Kurjak, I didn't exchange any messages with Vučinić, I didn't even with Bojan Stanojković, nor did he ask me about rifles."

Responding to accusations that he ordered the attempted murder of Nebojsa Joksović's accomplice witness and that he tried to set up charges against him, he explained that he fought against Joksović only in the courtroom.

"I tried to discredit Joksović in court, he was caught in a bunch of lies," said Šarić and added: "It's a ridiculous accusation, that we wanted to discredit him after the final verdict."

Šarić claims that he does not know the policemen Danilo Stojanović and Milutin Radovanović, who are accused as part of his group. "I saw those people here for the first time."

Lawyer: The messages are not mine, I defended Šarić honorably

After Šarić, his lawyer Dejan Lazarević presented his defense, who was accused of receiving orders from Šarić through the "Skaj" application in connection with planning the murder of Joksović and attempts to discredit him.

"I did not exchange any messages on 'Skaja'," said Lazarevic in a short presentation. "I didn't have the device for the 'Sky' application, I didn't use it, these messages are not mine".

He said that his relationship with Sarić was only that of lawyer and client.

"I defended Darko Šarić honorably. I am proud to know that man. A good man who only knows how to criticize," said Lazarevic.

He said that he was arrested in order to stop him from defending in another case - probably referring to the proceedings against Veljko Belivuk and his associates, writes KRIK.

"I thought they were arresting me to prevent me from being a defense attorney in another case. But we'll talk about that later."

Lazarevic says that the police officers behaved correctly when they arrested him.

"They said that they never arrested the lawyer, but that they received such an order from the prosecutor. They immediately asked me - Lazarević, do you want to take a polygraph? I said - I will".

Police officer: They informed Vučić about contacts with hooligans through Parezanović

Police Chief Danilo Stojanović said that he did not commit the criminal offense of abuse of office and that he was never a member of a criminal group.

"I did not submit any information (from the police). I did not receive a phone with the 'Sky' application, nor did I use it," he said, as reported by KRIK.

He denied that, at the behest of Šarić, he influenced his colleagues to set up an investigation with false accusations against Joksović. He also denied receiving money and other gifts from the criminal group.

"It is not true that Darko Šarić paid for my daughter's birthday celebration. It is not true for me that Šarić bought me furniture and building materials for the house," he said.

He then explained in detail how he managed to finance the celebration, as well as the purchase of furniture and construction work on the house on Kosmaj that he was building with his colleague Milutin Radovanović - who is also accused as a member of Šarić's group. The prosecutor claims that Šarić financed those two policemen with 50.000 euros.

Regarding the accusations that he protected the fan Uroš Radovanović (better known by his previous surname Mišić), he explained that he was actually investigating the fans as a policeman. He explained that he was part of a special working group in the police formed by former minister Nebojša Stefanović.

"The working group dealt with secret surveillance of fan groups. It was led by (Ninoslav) Cmolić.

Part of the group's work was to build contacts with hooligans - primarily those who support Red Star.

"The first contacts we made (with hooligans) we deepened later. We used to hear something, to find out something. We presented ourselves as fans of Crvena Zvezda".

He explained that in that business they collaborated with the influential BIA official - Marko Parezanović

"Parezanović is the head of the security sector within the BIA. Through Marko Parezanović, we informed President Aleksandar Vučić personally about this," said Stojanović.
