Football manager Uroš Janković was beaten two nights ago in Belgrade, and Nikša and Kostadin Terzić, sons of Red Star FC general manager Zvezdan Terzić, were arrested for the attack on him. Jankovic told "Vijesta" that "a group of armed villains" attacked him shortly after the football match between Serbia and Montenegro, while he was leaving a restaurant with Montenegrin national team player Adam Marušić and his family.
He also said that Kostadin Terzić pointed a gun at Marušić, as well as that the attackers injured the soccer player's mother.
Janković said that the attack resembled a terrorist attack, that the Terzići and their team blocked their way with cars, hit their vehicle, and then hit it with a gun and batons.
He also claims that it was an attempted murder, and that he was hit more than 30 times with a gun.
"After they hit the car in which my driver was with a jeep, coming from the opposite direction, they attacked me, Marušić, his wife and mother. They hit me in the temple with a gun, and the sons of Zvezdan Terzić and the owner of 'Nana' with the help "several attackers frantically hit me with pistols on the head and vital parts of the body. My cheekbone and left leg were broken. I was transferred to the Clinical Center, where I underwent surgery," Janković said.
He explained that Terzići and his team attacked them in front of the "Sport" restaurant, on Autokomanda.
"We are surrounded by several cars. My driver tried to leave the place, then he was hit by a car from the opposite direction. I didn't even manage to get into the vehicle, I was attacked from behind. At one point I lost consciousness, and they continued to hit me they hit..."
From the restaurant "Sport", in an email sent to "Vijesti", they denied that the incident happened in front of their establishment.
Janković says that a little over a year ago, he had a conflict with Zvezdan Terzić, who, as he claims, tried to extort him.
"I didn't allow him to racket me and he couldn't get over it. A year and a half ago he tried to do the same thing, but to no avail. Since then, my problem with him and his family has been going on, more precisely, since then, the persecution has been going on. They were waiting for me in several places," he said.
He added that with the Terzići and their friend, the owner of 'Nana', there were security guys from that club.
"The three of them can be clearly seen on the videos, that is, it is clearly seen that Terzići and he are hitting me with pistols. Mučki, from behind. You can also see that Kostadin Terzić repeats the gun and pulls it in the direction of Marušić's head and chest, in order to prevent him from helped me while they were brutally beating me. His mother, a sixty-year-old woman, was pushed and injured," he said.
Exonerated from money laundering charges
He points out that he has made more than 250 transfers in his career, but that he does not practice media appearances, so that is why he has not commented on the epilogue of the criminal complaint filed against him five years ago for money laundering.
"After the injustice in Belgium, this was the final straw for me to speak out," Janković said.
He explained that this procedure was a suspended procedure that was previously conducted against him, because it was established that he was not guilty.
"Proceedings were conducted against me in Belgium, for which I was arrested on October 10, 2018, and Serbia released me on September 19, 2019 due to the absence of grounds for suspicion against me. After that, the whole story with Belgium ended, they never filed charges against me for the reason that I have never committed any criminal offense. This is confirmed by several court rulings related to that case. So it is false that I entered into any agreement with any prosecution. In that case I was the defendant and now I am the injured party , because multimillion-dollar damage was inflicted on me," he said.
