After three months spent in Pljevljak custody, Duško Šarić will come from home to the trial in the proceedings for planning the murder and discrediting the accomplice witness, writes N1.

The court panel decided to replace the current detention measures for the accused Duško Šarić and Milan Vučinić from Podgorica with milder ones, i.e. house arrest with the bail that their defense proposed earlier - 800 thousand euros for Šarić and 300 thousand euros for Vučinić.

This means that both of them will be released from the detention units when the real estate mortgage is formally registered.

Duško Šarić and Milan Vučinić surrendered to the Serbian police on January 4, 2024, and until then, as defendants within the criminal group of Duško's brother Darko Šarić, they were tried in absentia in the aforementioned proceedings against Šarić and 14 other persons who are accused of planning the murder and discrediting the witness of associate Nebojsa Joksović.

At the first hearing that was held after the surrender of Duško Šarić, he denied in court the commission of the criminal acts that the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime accuses him of.

In his defense, he said that he "does not recognize the allegations in the indictment".

"I have not committed any criminal offense that I am charged with. It is not even clear to me how I ended up on the indictment. I did not commit any criminal offense. I am not a member of any organized criminal group," said Duško Šarić in his defense and stated who all of he knows the accused.

"Danilo Odović is my former brother-in-law. I know Bojan Stanojković. I have been friends with Aleksandar Bošković privately for several years. I know Danilo Stojanović and Milutin Radovanović superficially. Arso Šarić is my cousin. I have known Milan Vučinić for many years. I could not discredit the associate witness Nebojša Joksović , I have nothing to do with him, and why should I discredit him when at that time Darko Šarić was legally convicted. I did not harass police officers, I did not promise or give them any money, I did not pay for their celebrations or lunches. I have lived in Belgrade since 1997, I have four children, I applied for citizenship several times, but I never received it," said Duško Šarić.

This proceeding is being conducted because the Prosecution charges Darko Šarić and his associates with planning the murder and discrediting of Nebojša Joksović, who was an associate witness in the proceedings against Šarić for cocaine smuggling.

Namely, according to the indictment, Šarić made a plan to kill Joksović out of "reckless revenge", and since his associates failed to do so, Šarić ordered the discrediting of Joksović. The goal was to lose the status of an accomplice witness in this way, through the alleged planning of the murder of his associate Goran Nikolašević, who reported Joksović to the police. The prosecution claims that everything was staged.

Darko Šarić arranged this while he was in custody, with his lawyer Dejan Lazarević and other associates via the "Sky" application on an encrypted phone, according to the indictment.

It is still unknown how Darko Šarić was able to use the phone while he was in one of the most heavily guarded detention centers in the Special Court building.
