Former basketball player Nikola Peković and his wedding godfather and business partner Pljevljak Duško Šarić earned 737 thousand euros last year from managing the "Mediteran" hotel in Vičići.
This is written in the financial statement submitted to the Tax Administration of Montenegro by their partner company "Spencer & Hill Team".
Šarić joined Peković in that company in the middle of last year and both have half of the founding capital. A company registered in Budva manages the hotel, while Peković's company "Spencer & Hill" is the sole owner of the real estate - the land and the hotel.
The value of real estate owned by "Spencer & Hill Team", as written in the statement, is 4,5 million euros, 900 thousand euros more than in 2018.
The company's revenue last year was 5,4 million euros. The company's long-term loans are 2,8 million euros.
The current team manager of the Montenegrin national basketball team traded a hotel in Vičići for 8,5 million euros three years ago. At the end of July 2017, Pekovic signed a sales contract with the bankruptcy administration of the company "Maestraltours" of Blaž Dedić, a businessman who was linked by the Serbian media to Darko Šarić.
Peković was previously married in the "Mediteran" hotel, and his best man was his longtime friend Duško Šarić.
Earlier, he also became the owner of the two most popular discotheques in Montenegro, Budva's "Top Hill" and Kotor's "Maximus", which, according to his own admission, he bought after the bankruptcy of the companies managing them.
Peković and Šarić expect consent from the Municipality of Budva to build a five-star hotel with apartments for the market on the site of the aqua park and garage within the Mediteran hotel complex.
The chief city architect, Ana Samardžić, stopped the process of issuing approval for the preliminary design of the future luxury hotel.
Peković's company filed a request in August of last year, and attached an amended conceptual solution, after Samardžić had previously refused to issue consent for three towers of 11 and 15 floors each, which were to be built along the Jadranska magistrala itself, between the "Mediterranean" hotel " and "Splendid".
The company reduced its capacity by a fifth, so the future hotel has nine floors in two buildings connected by a glass bridge. However, the problem arose because the construction of a new hotel is planned on a stream that is owned by the Municipality, which is why the green light of the local parliament is necessary. For months, such a decision was not on the agenda of the Municipal Assembly, and the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic will further delay the declaration.

The Supreme Court confirmed the verdict of the Appellate Court, which stated that the banking and financial expertise of the documents from Serbia, Cyprus and Norway undoubtedly established that the money was not obtained by selling drugs to the criminal organization of Darko Šarić and 34 other people.
