To be honest, we Albanians did not expect anything good from this government, but we did not expect that they would start the most brutal confrontation with minorities so quickly and without any pardon already in the first months of their rule. We thought that they finally learned something from distant and recent history, it was announced from the coalition "Unanimously-DP-DUA-DSCG", on the occasion of the announced Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Residence and Residence Registers.
In a statement signed by DUA President Mehmed Zenka, it is stated that "The government of the self-proclaimed apostles announces that with a simple show of hands, tens of thousands of Albanians and other minority nations will be left stateless and without the right to vote".
"Without their centuries-old hearths from which they temporarily left for the white world to improve their living needs. In the 21st century, it is hard to believe that ideas that disinherit tens of thousands of members of minority nations are still alive," the announcement reads.
Zenka assessed that "Čubrilović, Garašanin, Ranković and Milošević still live and act in the form of a government of self-proclaimed apostles".
"The idea of the Government of the "Serbian world" to wipe out a mere 50% of Albanians and other minorities with one decision, and at the same time to grant statehood to thousands of others, is nothing more than a message that "if we didn't clean you up with war, then this is how we will deal with you," he says. it is said that "in addition to "your world", the world of Montenegrins, Albanians and other minorities also lives in Montenegro".
"The core of multinationality and multiconfessionalism is alive, the idea of living together is alive. Are you really counting on Montenegro by negating all of us? We are very interested in what your next steps will be - that you may not take away from that diaspora the material goods invested in your Montenegro, and how you started and that is to be expected," Zenka said, asking "do you really think that you will convince Montenegrins that they are not Montenegrins, that minorities can live in Montenegro only if they accept your rules of coexistence, i.e. either part of the "Serbian world" or the way under your feet".
"Gentlemen, maybe it can be for you, time will tell and prove - do Montenegrins worthy of Montenegro live in Montenegro, do the minorities live who in 2006 said one big YES to Montenegro. This Montenegro renewed its statehood by the free will of all of us, respecting the values of all of us. This Montenegro was created by will and not by hatred," said Zenka.
He pointed out "that the greatest value of this country is that we don't have to be ashamed of each other and that we look at each other with pride".
He also said that "it could also be revenge against the Albanians because they did not tie their fate to the "Serbian world".
"Who knows, it could also be revenge for the Montenegrins who, in 1997-1998, saw in time the perniciousness and evil of the policies around us at that time, so instead of seeing their minorities as enemies, they reached out to live together, respecting mutual values," the announcement reads.
Zenka states "that the Government, looking for the mistakes of the previous authorities, sees the biggest sin in the existence of Montenegro and Montenegrins and in the existence of a multinational Montenegro".
Instead of starting with pre-season preparations, the Government is planning demographic changes.
"Tell me, gentlemen, with what will you welcome our diaspora when they come for their annual vacations - is it the promise that they will no longer be full citizens of this country, that they will not have the power to vote or be elected, that they will have the same rights as tourists from China and that instead of them , are you giving the right to vote to others?", asked the Albanian coalition.
They state "that maybe it has become a little stronger, so it is hitting everything that has been bothering it for years, trampling recklessly on everything that makes Montenegro Montenegro".
"Normally, it was expected that you would start from the minority nations in realizing your ideas, because when you "fix" us, then you will have an "easy" time with the Montenegrins. We will see if it will turn out that way, because the Albanians will certainly not sit back and accept the loss. rights for 50% of our people. Be sure that we will maximally protect the rights of our families and our brothers from the diaspora," said Zenka, asking the Government why it does not have any support for minorities for its projects.
