The President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković, said that the President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, is a "true image" of the parliamentary majority and everything that has been happening in Montenegro since the change of government on August 30, 2020.
"Primitivism and nationalist politics that are destroying the civil character of Pljevlja and Montenegro are now a constant in the political life of our country. Dario Vraneš is just openly showing the true face of this parliamentary majority and deliberately sticking a finger in the eye of PES, the Democrats and URI by showing that in fact the New Serbian Democracy and Andrija Mandić are the owners of this majority and that they are the ones who are wondering in Montenegro," Živković said.
He said that, nevertheless, neither Mandić nor Vraneš nor the New Serbian Democracy should be blamed. "They are only using the cowardice and lack of backbone of the supposedly civil parties that, under the guise of criticizing the DPS and the former government, are actually oppressing the state of Montenegro while they buy their peace by settling for positions, privileges and petty personal and party interests," adds Živković.
For this reason, he believes, responsibility should be sought in the Civic Movement URA and the Democrats, but above all in the Europe Now Movement.
"Because even Dritan Abazović, who after August 30 enabled the penetration of Great Serbian nationalism and chauvinism in Montenegro, never allowed Andrija Mandić to be the president of the Parliament of Montenegro. PES, on the other hand, not only let Mandić lead the Parliament , rather, he plans to bring the New Serbian Democracy and the Democratic People's Party into the Government, while one of the representatives of this party excitedly comments that the parliamentary majority functions flawlessly. Good luck to you," said Živković.
He said that DPS will "continue the fight that is based on principles and values", which means "the defense of civil Montenegro and multi-confessional harmony".
"These are values that we will never give up and that we will defend by all means if necessary. And you just continue to serve Vraneš, Kovačević, Mandić... Obviously, you are not for the better," the DPS leader concluded.
