The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will successfully complete the process of internal party reform, in order to present itself to the public stronger and more ready to take on the responsibility of managing state politics in the next election process, said party president Danijel Živković.
DPS announced that Živković met with the Italian ambassador in Podgorica, Andrea Marcela.
Živković, as stated, informed Marcela about the activities of DPS and added that the party from the opposition benches will continue to be unequivocally committed to European and Euro-Atlantic values, which guarantee the preservation of the national interests of Montenegro.
He pointed out that the internal party reform was carried out in that direction, including the first direct elections for the leadership of the party.
"After the immediate elections at the level of municipal organizations and Congress, DPS will successfully round off the process of internal party reform, so that in the next election process we present ourselves to the public stronger, better and more ready to take on the responsibility of managing state politics," Živković concluded.
He thanked Italy for its continuous political and expert support for the European perspective of Montenegro.
Marsela, as reported, congratulated and wished success to Živković in his further activities.
She said that she expects that in the coming period the institutions, as well as social and political actors, will be constructive and make the necessary effort to speed up the process of European integration of Montenegro.
Marcela is said to have reiterated Italy's strong support in that direction.
"The interlocutors concluded that the process of European integration of Montenegro is the main way to achieve sustainable progress for citizens, but also to strengthen internal, regional and European stability and security, especially if the geopolitical context is taken into account," the statement said.
