In the first 100 days, the Government proposed to the Parliament laws contrary to EU standards and the Constitution of Montenegro, and I expect the European Commission (EC) to closely and objectively monitor the Government's activities in the process of European integration, as before, said Ana Novaković Đurović, member of the Citizens' Movement URA .
URE announced that she met with the European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelji.
At the meeting, she emphasized that the opposition made a significant contribution to the acceleration of Montenegro's European path.
"This was particularly pronounced during the voting for appointments to the judiciary and the election of the VDT, which confirmed the true commitment of URE to the European future of Montenegro," said Novaković Đurović.
She said that the URA remains constructive in implementing reforms related to the process of European integration, but also that it will be a critic of any government decision that goes in the opposite direction.
"We are concerned about the Government's economic strategy, because the Europe Now 2 program does not exist in any strategic document, but only at the level of promises. We believe that such conduct of economic policy undermines our credibility as a candidate country and does not make us a good partner for the implementation of important EU initiatives , such as the Growth Plan," said Novaković Đurović.
