The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) has always been in line and in agreement with policies that promote the progressive, multi-ethnic and European path of Montenegro, said the president of that party, Danijel Živković.
As reported by DPS, he met today with the Ambassador of Switzerland, Urs Schmid.
Živković thanked Switzerland, which supports the European integration of Montenegro.
He stated that, while he was in power, and now in the opposition, DPS was committed to creating a stable, predictable and competitive investment environment, within which Swiss companies implemented significant projects for Montenegro.
"DPS has always been in line and in agreement with policies that promote the progressive, multi-ethnic and European path of Montenegro, and with Switzerland it has always had a partner in line with those policies," Živković pointed out.
He said that in the current internal, regional and global circumstances, there is concern for the further strategic course and European path of Montenegro, especially if, as he stated, one takes into account the great influence of anti-European policies, which are focused on changing the character of Montenegrin society.
"Getting acquainted with the process of immediate intra-party elections, Živković reiterated the DPS's commitment to the European path of Montenegro and its determination that in that direction it will not allow the collapse of the most important national interest, entry into the European Union and the construction of a modern civil society," the statement said.
It is stated that Schmid confirmed Switzerland's strong support for the European perspective of Montenegro.
He added that the adoption of European standards and reforms strengthens institutions in the process of integration into the EU.
