The Government established the Proposal for a Decision on Adoption of a Detailed Spatial Plan for the Area of the Multi-Purpose Accumulation on the Komarnica River, the most important document which is a prerequisite for the construction of a hydroelectric power plant with an installed capacity of 170 megawatts (MW).
The Director General of the Directorate for Planning in the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Marina Izgarevic Pavicevic, said that the capital energy facility, that is, the hydroelectric power plant, will be 170 meters high and have a capacity of 209 gigawatt hours (GWh).
The estimated value of this investment is EUR 246,53 million.
"The plan covers the territory of the municipalities of Šavnik and Plužine. "With the implementation of this Detailed Spatial Plan, Montenegro will receive benefits in terms of electricity and the development of agriculture, tourism and the improvement of infrastructure in this part of the municipalities," said Izgarevic Pavićević after the Government session.
She added that the Spatial Plan of Montenegro valid until this year and the Energy Strategy until 2030 were used as a starting point.
"The most important criterion for defining the elevation of the normal slope is not to disturb the natural regime in the area of Šavnik and in the area of the Nevidio canyon", stated Izgarević Pavićević.
The arched concrete dam of HPP Komarnica will be located in a very narrow "V" profile of the canyon, according to the optimization analyzes in the Concept Project, with a structural height of 171 meters, a radius of about 440 and a length in the crown of about 211 meters.
The details will be finally defined by the project documentation.
