The recent president and former leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Milo Đukanović sent a telegram of condolences on the death of professor, writer, scientist and prominent politician Novak Kilibarda to his family.
"It is with sincere regret that I received the news of the death of your esteemed husband, parent, brother and grandfather Novak Kilibarda, a famous professor of literature, writer and scientist, and an equally important politician who marked the historical processes of modern Montenegro with his authentic actions, whose restoration of independence made an invaluable contribution," reads Đukanović's telegram.
Kilibarda's recognizable political engagement, says Đukanović, symbolically illustrates the path of state development and the democratic turn and revival of Montenegro in the past decades.
"He will be remembered, among other things, for his originality and setting new standards in the political life of our country, as well as for his courage to represent them, sparing neither himself nor others, unreservedly putting his professorial and scientific reputation and authority in the function of defending Montenegrin state and national identity .I will cherish the memory of the relationship of mutual respect and friendship that we built during many years of cooperation in the most crucial challenges for Montenegro".
