Former and current workers of "Ulcinja Riviera" sued that company in the Basic Court in Ulcinj demanding the payment of part of the severance pay and the difference in personal income in a procedure worth more than 250 thousand euros.

This is written in the analysis of the situation in the Ulcinj hotelier, which was carried out by the Ministry of Tourism, with the recommendation that the solution to the problem is the sale of non-functional land at the Bus station, which is owned by the "Ulcinj Riviera".

"Around 40 former employees, whose employment was terminated on the basis of severance pay, filed a lawsuit in 2021 and 2022 with the Basic Court in Ulcinj for the payment of part of the severance pay. Also, about 30 workers who are still employed sued HTP 'Ulcinjska riviera' for the payment of the difference in personal income for the period from 2009 to 2021. In the case of ending the dispute in favor of the worker, it is estimated that the amount of the payment a worker's dispute with all costs can reach the amount of over 250.000 euros," the analysis reads.

It is noted that one of the solutions to this problem is the sale of land at the bus station, which is the property of "Ulcinjska Riviera", but is not in operation.

"The Ministry of Finance sent a letter to the executive director, in which it was explained that it is necessary to make a decision on the sale of land at the Bus Station by the management body of the HTP 'Ulcinjska Riviera', and submit it to the relevant Ministry of Tourism," the document reads.

Legal representative of "Ulcinjska Riviera", lawyer Branko Lutovac he confirmed to "Vijesti" that it is true that more than 60 workers have filed lawsuits, both those who are currently employed and those who have left the company or have earned the right to a pension.

"The claims refer to compensation for damages due to allegedly less paid wages, compensation for overtime work, unused vacations and work during holidays. He also has claims based on allegedly less paid severance pay. Total claims exceed the amount of 250.000 euros," said Lutovac.

He stated that proceedings are ongoing before the Basic Court in Ulcinj and the High Court in Podgorica.

"Until now, only a few cases have been concluded in which lawsuits and demands were partially accepted. "Also, my office filed lawsuits and counterclaims due to higher compensation paid to workers in the seasonal part of the year, and these proceedings are ongoing," said Lutovac.

He believes that the sale of land near the bus station is necessary.

"Both because of the aforementioned claims of the workers, and because of the investment investment plan, which was proposed by the current management of the company, all with the aim of improving the tourist offer on Ada Bojana", assessed Lutovac.

The workers who filed lawsuits against "Ulcinjska Riviera", as well as those who are the subject of the company's lawsuits, were not in the mood for a conversation on that topic.

"Ulcinjska Riviera" unofficially confirmed to "Vijesta" that the management has been trying to solve this problem for several years, but "it is not even close to being finished yet".

There are currently more than 65 employees in "Ulcinjska Riviera". The nudist camp "Ada Bojana" and the auto-camp "Neptun" on Velika plaža operate within it, which is the subject of a property dispute.
