The Slovenian Tadej Pogaćar celebrated in the extremely strenuous, 153-kilometer-long 9th stage of the most prestigious bicycle race in the world.
The lead in the overall standings was taken by his compatriot and one of the main favorites for the overall victory, Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma).
It was the second stage in the Pyrenees, and after the last and most difficult climb, on the Col de Marie Blanc, followed 18 km of descent and driving on the plain.
In the end, a group of five cyclists stood out, including Roglič, Pogačar, last year's winner Colombian Egan Bernal (INEOS), Spaniard Mikel Landa (Bahrain-McLaren) and Swiss Mark Hirschi.
The winner of the stage was decided in the final sprint, in which Pogačar overtook Roglič, and Hirša finished third.
In the overall ranking, Primož Roglič is now leading, and his advantage over Bernal is 21 seconds.
Frenchman Guillaume Martin (Kofidis) is in third place, 28 seconds behind.
Pogačar advanced to seventh place, he has a gap of 44 seconds, and the previous owner of the yellow shirt, the British Adam Yates (Mitchelton-Scott), fell to eighth place with a gap of one minute and two seconds.
Monday is a rest day in Tour.
