A 72-year-old citizen of Serbia, MP, who is suspected of having tried to kill her seven-year-old son on Tuesday evening, has been in Spuša prison since yesterday. After the hearing, the prosecutor on duty, Maja Jovanović, ordered her to be detained for up to XNUMX hours.
Lawyer Božo Milonjić, who officially represents the suspect, told Vijesti that the MoJ presented a defense during which she denied the commission of a criminal act.
"However, as it is a foreign citizen, the prosecutor ordered the detention of the suspect due to the risk of escape, but also due to the influence on the witnesses who have yet to be heard, said lawyer Milonjić.
A seven-year-old boy, let us remind you, was brought to the Children's Hospital in Podgorica on Tuesday evening shortly after 19:XNUMX pm with multiple stab wounds in the chest area. After that, he underwent emergency surgery. After the operation, the boy is stable and out of danger.
On the occasion of this event, the Police Administration also announced.
"Officials of the OB Cetinje were informed by the Emergency Medical Service that they took over a seven-year-old boy with body injuries that were most likely caused by the impact of a sharp object".
The boy was hospitalized.
Taking measures and actions and based on information collected from citizens, in coordination with the state prosecutor in the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, police officers deprived the MP of her freedom due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that she had committed the criminal offense of aggravated attempted murder, the statement reads.
Everything happened in a rented house in Rijeka Crnojevića, and the suspect's neighbors reported the case to the police.
"Arriving at the house where the suspect was staying with her son, the police found the door locked and upon entering a gruesome scene. "There was blood everywhere," says our interlocutor, adding that during the investigation, a knife was also found with which, it is suspected, the MP tried to kill her son.
According to unofficial information, the boy was previously physically abused by his mother. However, despite the possible speculation that the child's mother was brought to the competent authorities several times by the neighbors, the Cetinje Center for Social Work claims that they have not received a single complaint against the suspect.
"Not a single report of domestic violence was recorded in the records of the Ju Center for Social Work. The family of the MP did not exercise a single right from the Law on Social and Child Protection," the statement says.
