The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Aljbin Kurti, assessed as an important step the decision of the Committee for Politics and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recommending the admission of Kosovo to that organization.
Kurti wrote on the X platform that this is a very important step, indicating that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will vote on that recommendation.
"Today, the Committee on Politics and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe took an important step forward for Kosovo. The opinion confirms the fulfillment of all prerequisites for Kosovo's membership and recommends that Kosovo be invited to join the Council of Europe as a member state. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will vote on the opinion in April," Kurti wrote.
On the other hand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, said that the decision on the recommendation for the admission of Kosovo to the membership of the Council of Europe is "shameful and scandalous".
"Decision of the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the recommendation for admission of the so-called Kosovo's membership of the Council of Europe is shameful and scandalous, which destroys all the principles on which the Council of Europe rests, because for the first time the admission of a territory that is not a member of the United Nations and is not internationally recognized was proposed,'' said Dacic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. of Serbia.
Dacic pointed out that the decision threatens the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
