At today's session, the government awarded the Port of Budva to the Public Company for the Management of the Maritime Asset.
A proposal was adopted which invalidated the conclusion of the Government of Dritan Abazović from February last year and which approved the proposal for an agreement on the transfer of the use of the Port of Budva to the Municipality of Budva.
Bearing in mind that the conclusion has not been realized, the Government tasked the Public Company to take over the management of the Port from the Municipality.
The now-detained president of the Municipality of Budva, Milo Božović, and the director of the Public Enterprise for the Management of Maritime Assets, Mladen Mikijelj, signed a contract in early March 2023 by which the public enterprise will cede the Port of Budva near the Old Town to the local government for temporary use.
The government of the Prime Minister in the technical mandate of Dritan Abazović previously in February of last year adopted the Decision on taking over the Port of Budva and gave its consent to the Agreement between the Public Enterprise and the Municipality, which gives the marina to the local government for temporary use until the tender is announced and the concessionaire is selected.
