Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj announced that forced administration was introduced in the municipalities of Šavnik and Andrijevica.

He said this at the press conference after the Government session.

"It is not the goal of the Public Administration or the Government to take work from the municipalities, but they did not act in accordance with the Law," said Dukaj.

He pointed out that they have repeatedly sent appeals to the municipalities of Šavnik and Andrijevica.

"We have sent appeals several times, drawn attention, and surely everyone will agree that the situation in these municipalities is unsustainable," said Dukaj.

He explained that Budva failed to fulfill its obligations and thus shortened its mandate, and that Andrijevica did not even try to implement the Government's decision.

"Savnik did not fulfill all obligations in accordance with the law. They only extended the strategic plan and did not adopt a new one," said Dukaj.

"The basic function of municipalities is to serve citizens. Therefore, to provide services to citizens and to take care of their needs. In order to realize their basic function, it is understood that municipalities can achieve this only by respecting the laws and the Constitution of Montenegro. Any other action by the municipalities is not acceptable for this government," the minister pointed out.
