Budva is getting another place in nature to enjoy, walk and relax, a new tourist product that will improve the offer and enhance the stay of lovers of nature and active vacations on the Budva Riviera.

The tourist organization of the municipality of Budva, in cooperation with the Budva Protection and Rescue Service, doo "Komunalno" and the hunting society "Primorje" has started the implementation of the first phase of the project of cleaning and arranging pedestrian paths in a length of 3 kilometers on the island of St. Nikola and putting this locality into a touristic purpose.

The entire project includes, in addition to cleaning and arranging the paths, adequate marking by means of visual communication, the arrangement of several locations on the island into smaller picnic areas with all the accompanying facilities, the installation of cameras for monitoring animals, protective fences at critical points, as well as boards with instructions for fire protection . The project also includes the enrichment of the animal fund with pheasants, mouflons, deer, roe deer and other animal species that can adapt to the specific conditions of life on the island.

"After several decades of neglecting the full tourist potential of the island of St. Nikola, we are looking forward to the start of the implementation of this project, which aims to improve the quality of Budva's tourist offer and with the implementation of which we will get completely new content for the citizens and visitors of Budva who want to change the environment and, apart from the sea, enjoy somewhat different areas. We owe special thanks to our colleagues from the Budva Protection and Rescue Service, for whom the use of these trails will make it easier to carry out their activities, as well as to our colleagues from doo "Komunalno" and the hunting society "Primorje". Everyone immediately recognized the importance of arranging and putting this part of the island of Sv. Nikola and actively participated in the implementation of the project," said Nemanja Kuljača, acting director of the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Budva.

This project represents one of a series of planned ones that the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Budva implements or supports with the aim of improving and improving the tourist offer of the rural area of Budva, and the very importance of the realization of those projects is especially emphasized in the time marked by the pandemic of the COVID 19 virus, which reminded the importance of staying in nature and environmental protection.
