Sailed in a weak south-west wind at a speed of five to seven knots, the 19th Tivat Regatta UNA Montenegro CUP on Sunday still brought excitement to all lovers of boats, boats and sailing in Boka at the finish line near Ponte Seljanova.
After several hours of persistence and skill in catching the scarce wind, the first three boats in real time finished this competition, which was the main event of the first weekend of the 3rd Wind Festival, with only a few minutes of difference.
This unique sports-cultural-educational festival is organized by JK "Delfin" in cooperation with the Municipality, Tivat Tourist Organization and numerous sponsors, and the Wind Festival will last a total of five weekends until May 26.
The festival officially began on Friday evening with a big concert by the famous Belgrade punk-rock band Partibrejkerski on the city's Pine waterfront in Tivat, after which the next two days of the weekend were dedicated to sailing competitions - first the "Little Tivat Regatta" reserved for competitors in the Optimist and ILCA classes from of all Bokele clubs, on Saturday, and then to the main sailing event of this year's Wind Festival - the traditional, 19th "Tivat Regatta UNA Montenegro Cup".
The competition, which was held on Sunday, was open to all cruisers, sailboats and catamarans, and was sailed on an extremely attractive route - Ponta Seljanova, Gospa od Milosti, Sveti Marko, Ralo and Verige straits, a tour of the Peraški Islands and return to finish at Ponti Seljanovo.
On a relatively weak wind but a beautiful day, which brought a large audience to the shores of the Tivat Bay, but also to the sea on boats specially organized for the occasion, the fastest at the 19th Tivat regatta was the crew of coxswain Sim Dabović from JK "Jovo Dabović" from Baošić with by ship "Oxygen".
Lazure Marina team with skipper Dmitri Geduljanov on the sailboat "Auckland" entered the finish line second, while the "Blue Seagull" JK Delfin, with skipper Fran Tripović, was third.
The last to cross the finish line was Nikola Truš with the sailboat "Chita" under the colors of JK "Lahor" Kotor, which earned him the special memorial award "Eldin Omeragić Kuba" - prosciutto. A total of 19 boats took part in the 29th UNA Montenegro CUP Tivat Regatta.
In class 1, skipper Andrija Marković won with the boat "Seascape" JK Delfin in front of Romina Racković on the sailing street "Bavica" JK Lahore. In class 4, Matija Rašović triumphed on the ship "Medusina" Brodarsko društvo "Jugole Grakalić" from Herceg Novi, in class 5 the fastest was Simo Dabović "Oxygenu", JK "Jovo Dabović", and in class 6 Goran Kovačević on the ship "Vagabund" from JK Porto Novi.
Skipper Dimitrij Geduljanov on the boat "Auckland" from Lazura marina in Meljine was the fastest in class 7, while Filip Petričević triumphed in class 8 on the boat "Altair" JK Lahore. In the class of sailing boats, the famous Tivat sailing veteran Branko Krstoviuć won with his famous "Andamant ribbon", while in the Hobby Car class the fastest was Tonći Belan on the sailboat "Tonći" of JK Boka Surfing from Tivat.
