I responsibly claim that everything we did was done publicly and honestly. It could have been better and probably worse. There was no politicking. We were equal to all citizens and I can say that with pride. There was no discrimination. I absolutely did not have a single remark on that issue, said today, among other things, the President of the Municipality of Pljevlja Dario Vraneš (New Serbian Democracy - NSD) at the session of the local parliament, during the discussion on the report on the work of the President of the Municipality of Pljevlja in the past year.
The report was adopted by the votes of the ruling majority, while eight councilors of the coalition consisting of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the Bosniak Party (BS) were against it.
Vraneš said that he was glad that he "broke all the plans and all the schemes" that the previous DPS government made during the nine and a half years of government in Pljevlja.
"Not a single job could be done if there was no adjustment, fitting or melting. Not a single job could be done if some third company did not have its tentacles. I stopped that," said Vraneš, replicating his predecessor, and now DPS councilor Rajko Kovačević.
He also said that it is not easy to get out of the trap he left DPS with.
Kovačević claims that when Vraneš took over from him in Pljevlja at the end of April last year, he found a budget of 23 million euros, seven million in the cash register, no loans and dozens of projects. He also said that the municipality mostly implemented the projects that they started.
"I hope that the next report will be submitted by a new president and a new majority. In order to be a successful government, it is not enough to just love the government and the armchairs. Competence, visions, ideas are what the current parliamentary majority does not possess either in Pljevlje or at the state level ", said Kovačević.
He reproached Vraneš for not specifying in his report what kind of situation he assumed when he came to the head of the municipality.
"You left us 198 workers in Čistoca, all of whom received indefinite leave. In Vodovod, the same thing, 129 workers. In Grijanju, 36 workers. From the elections held on October 23, 2022 to April 26, 2023, over a hundred people received permanent That's what you left us," said Vraneš.
"Twenty-five workers had Heating, 11 were hired and 36 of them are now. Another 56 people were hired in Čistoća, not to mention Vodovod. You left three trucks on the local roads, one of which was broken. And what about you worked. You gave jobs to third parties and it is known who the third parties were. We stopped all those jobs. We buy machinery and our companies do those jobs. That's the difference. You left us with a targeted budget that was not adopted. Two full months in the municipality was temporary financing," said Vraneš.
He said that the previous administration had "alienated itself from the citizens of Pljevlja".
"We are constantly in contact with our citizens, we know it is difficult, but at least we perceive their problems and look at a rational way to solve them," said Vraneš.
Kovačević replied that "the number of employees in municipal enterprises in 2022 is lower than what we found in 2014".
Commenting on the Report of the Mayor of the Municipality, Councilor Radoman Andesilić of the Movement Europe Now (PES) said that the next report must be much better.
"We hope for better results. Now we have no alibi as far as this year is concerned because the budget was passed on time. The next report must be much better," Andesilić said.
Member of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Marko Potparić said that the government headed by Vraneš stabilized the local administration, and his party colleague Slobodan Radović said that in the eight months covered by the report, quality foundations were established in the functioning of the local administration.
"In general, the policy of the municipality of Pljevlja is based on sound principles and a healthy attitude towards pre-election promises. I believe that we now have a vision for the development of the municipality and a good starting point so that at the end of the four-year period we can say that concrete things have been done for the benefit of the entire social community," he said. is Radovic.
DPS councilor Haris Alavać said that Vraneš broke the law because he submitted the report only for eight months and it was supposed to cover the whole of last year.
His party friend Marko Tošić said that the local administration should not intervene with social benefits for children from families with high incomes, but should give child allowance to children from really vulnerable families.
For Vraneš, he said that he is not an ideological fly-by-night and does not hide himself like the other constituents of the government.
"He treats his country's holidays with indifference, and celebrates another country's holiday with the money of the citizens of Pljevlja," said Tošić.
DPS councilor Dragiša Sokić also criticized Vraneš's performance in the media and his attitude towards anti-fascism.
"The local administration does not celebrate Independence Day and he made a scandalous statement and showed his attitude towards the country where he was born. We launched an initiative to remove Vraneš and we expect our colleagues to accept it. He did not celebrate Montenegro's Statehood Day by laying a wreath on Stražica. Relationship according to civic values, they showed during the vote that the Municipal Day of the municipality should be October 27, when the holiday of Saint Petka is also celebrated," said Sokić.
Councilor of Democratic Montenegro Igor Joksović expects that the implementation of projects this year will be greater than the previous one due to accumulated problems in the municipality.
Member of NSD Božidar Jelovac said that the current administration has made the municipality a service for all citizens.
"So that not a single citizen has the need to be afraid of national political and religious threats. We had the opportunity to respect the national flag better than the previous authorities did with various abuses in its use. It is also good that the tricolor stands next to it as the flag of the majority people's municipality of Pljevlja. We also had the opportunity to see the Bosniak flag on the municipal building. The municipality respected the basic principles of the rights of all citizens of Pljevlja," Jelovac said.
