Committee club "Budva our city!": Behavior of political elites identical to the era of DPS when resources were just being stolen

Committee club "Budva our city!" announced this evening that he strongly condemns today's decision of the Government of Montenegro to cancel the conclusion on the transfer of the Port of Budva to the Municipality of Budva.

At today's session, the government awarded the Port of Budva to the Public Company for the Management of the Maritime Asset.

"Given that it was adopted in a period when local elections had already been called, it unequivocally proves that the Government, after an unsuccessful attempt to introduce forced administration, interfered in the election process. We see this move as an act of political retaliation against all citizens of Budva and unacceptable behavior of the Government, which dared to terminate the contract between Morski Dobr and the Municipality of Budva, according to which the port was supposed to be returned to the citizens. This scandalous behavior of the political elites sitting in the government is identical to the behavior during the DPS era when resources from Budva were only taken and stolen. In this way, they were cheated the citizens of Budva, especially those who fought for 30 years against the 'private tenant' of the port according to the DPS", the announcement emphasizes.

From the Board Club "Budva our city!" have added that they can rightly suspect that new parts have been made and that they will end up in private hands again via Morski Dobr Luka.

"We are asking a public question to the management of the Morski Dobr, why did you allow the citizens of Budva to be cheated and why are you standing in armchairs that are not worthy of this shame. Everyone knows that the Municipality of Budva demanded the beginning of the procedure of taking possession of the property by the Morski Dobr, and just when next week that should have happened, the Government urgently annuls the decision and prevents the municipality from doing so. It is obvious that these are new deals based on the old model that we must not allow. We call on all citizens, interested users, representatives of NGOs to provide an adequate response to the unacceptable act of repression with joint forces. of the Government of Montenegro", they said from the Committee Club "Budva is our city!" .

Budva's parliament was dissolved on March 25, just a year and a half after the local elections in which the former Democratic Front (DF), led by the detained president Milo Božović, won an absolute majority.

The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has scheduled local elections in Budva for May 26.
