The President of the Board of Directors of the Airport of Montenegro, Eldin Dobardžić, announced that Vladan Drašković was dismissed from the position of Executive Director of the Airport of Montenegro "due to a series of serious omissions, including violation of the Statute".
"Drašković on his own initiative approved the payment of 551 thousand euros for the purchase of part of the airport equipment without the consent of the Board of Directors, and the Statute clearly states that the executive director disposes of funds in the amount of up to 100 thousand euros, while for the amount of more than 100 thousand euros he needs the consent of the Board of Directors. In addition, given that we are now talking about money that "disappeared" or was "frozen" along the way, and that the police are involved in the case, I now publicly ask Mr. Drašković where is the 551 thousand euros? In whose account is the money? "When will it be returned to the airports of Montenegro?", announced Dobardžić.
He added that the dismissal of Drašković "is a logical consequence of the fact that the company is potentially facing paying over half a million euros a second time for the same thing".
"Neither did I give consent for the payment of 551 thousand euros, nor did the former executive director directly inform me that the money had disappeared, nor will I serve as a front for anyone to cover up extremely suspicious transactions. I regret that the line minister, after the meeting at which he and the state secretary presented all the facts, inappropriately lashed out at my pettiness. As a responsible man, I'm only interested in the truth and honest work. The burden of paying half a million euros to the wrong account will be borne by someone else," said Dobardžić.
He asked the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, what he would do if someone in the hierarchy who was subordinate to him "spent half a million euros without his consent and that money, in the end, ended up in the wrong account".
