Montenegro is fully committed to reforms on the European path, and the achieved progress contributes to the overall development of the country, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Filip Ivanović.
Today in Podgorica, he met with the Swiss ambassador to Montenegro on a non-resident basis, Urs Šmid.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) said that the focus of the talks were on the foreign policy priorities of Montenegro and the further improvement of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Ivanovic said that Montenegro is fully committed to reforms on the European path.
The achieved progress, as he assessed, contributes to the overall development of Montenegro.
"On that line, he referred to the investment potential, with an interest in further strengthening of economic cooperation, especially bearing in mind the fact that Switzerland is among the most important foreign investors in Montenegro," the announcement states.
Schmid said that he is satisfied with the very good bilateral relations between Switzerland and Montenegro.
He pointed out that a special dimension of the relationship is economic cooperation, which is reflected in numerous successful projects of Swiss companies in Montenegro.
"He conveyed his interest in further dynamizing contacts and closer linking of countries, primarily in the field of economy, but also in other spheres, such as education and science," says the announcement.
Šmid and Ivanović assessed that the development stimulated by the European integration of Montenegro also contributes to the improvement of bilateral cooperation.
"The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on other current, regional and global topics," the announcement states.
