The selector of the women's senior football team, Mirko Marić, announced today the list of players for the matches with Andorra and the Faroe Islands at the start of the European Championship qualifiers.
Marić invited 23 players.
The list includes goalkeepers - Anastasija Krstović (St. Mihalji, Hungary), Ajša Kalač (Leotar, Trebinje) and Nikolina Perunović (Zora Spuž);
Defense - Helena Božić (Dinamo Moscow, Russia), Tatjana Đurković (Asteras Tripolis, Greece), Aleksandra Popović (Split, Croatia), Majda Drešević (Breznica), Milica Radunović (TSC Kanjiža, Serbia), Jovana Sarić (Economist) and Andrea Janjušević (Emina, BiH);
Midfield: Slađana Bulatović (Fomget, Turkey), Jelena Karličić (Bordeaux, France), Jasna Đoković (Split, Croatia), Darija Đukić (Crvena zvezda, Serbia), Nađa Đurđevac (TSC Kanjiža, Serbia), Ivana Boričić and Sara Simonović (Radnički Kragujevac, Serbia);
Attack: Armisa Kuč (Fomget, Turkey), Medina Dešić (Nuremberg, Germany), Nađa Stanović (Ferencvaros), Jelena Vujadinović (Medik Konin, Poland), Maša Tomašević (Budućnost) and Jelena Petrović (Breznica).
Montenegro will play both matches in the April "window" at the City Stadium in Podgorica.
They will host Andorra on April 5, while five days later they will meet the Faroe Islands at the same place.
Marić said that the Montenegrin national team does not run away from the role of favorites in the upcoming matches.
"These will be special tests for our team, which is not used to playing as favorites, so we will see how they will behave in that situation. In any case, the most important thing is to approach the games seriously, because the fact that we have been playing well lately, against Northern Ireland and in the League of Nations, it does not mean that we will easily beat some rivals," said Marić.
He emphasized that with victories they would make an excellent introduction to the new cycle of qualifications.
Montenegro has not met Andorra until now, while it defeated the Faroe Islands twice in last year's League of Nations, in Podgorica by a very convincing 9:0, while in Toršov it was 1:0.
"Just because of that victory, we must not think that it will be an easy match. It is difficult to beat someone three times in a row in a relatively short period, and the game in the Faroe Islands showed that it is a difficult opponent. We scouted Andorra, we saw the qualities and flaws and I think that everything will depend on us in that match," Marić pointed out.
